I am not really asking a question here, but I'm even finding this forum site to be difficult to navigate.I am in CT,and dealing with the issue of an adult daughter living in OR, with untreated mental illness for a chance to possibly negotiate lower billing,or total elimination of bill.It was in the attempt to look that info up that i came upon the forum site. So,it seems phone companies are running their own scams on consumers!!How is this allowed? EVERYONE needs to contact state reps, state atty general offices, and try to get them to put cell phone companies under some sort of regulation and make them responsible for some attempt at fraud and scam prevention. In this major, debilitating scam, all they would need to do is have a standing placard sign at every business counter, stating "If you are here to open an account for someone you just met today, under their direction and urging,DON'T DO it! You are about to be caught in a scam that can ruin your life",and employees should be instructed to point this sign out to every approaching customer before conducting any business. Not only does this scam affect the victim by leaving them with a huge phone bill, all their person ID info is compromised and they have to take steps to protect that.As it stands, there seems to be no fraud/scam awareness education of employees in stores or working all these tangled call in lines, and certainly no warnings provided to consumers about any of the possible scams or frauds.
